Never have I had the interest in seeing the photos for a wedding like I have this one!
I guess you all were impressed with the giggling during the ceremony, the dip-kiss, leaving the church on a Harley, the cake in the face & the FUN reception too huh?

Well – here is all ya get….I’m doing a viewing with the bride & groom and will post them after that…on June 11th. :)
It was a fun one huh?!?!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

Filed under: Professional — Micki Benoit @ 8:01 pm

Doesn’t feel like the start of summer but it is! I’ll be taking the weekend off and returning to work Wednesday the 30th.

Please note my summer hours starting in June. Gonna try to take some time off with the kids this summer so I can give them 100% of me on my days off. Thanks in advance for your understanding! Have a great weekend! ~Micki

Seniors

Filed under: Professional — Micki Benoit @ 1:14 am

I just completed shooting my first “action” commercial this week! Normally I send KFDX-3 my photos and that is my commercial – this time I decided to do it a little different and mix in some action stuff – kinda a documentary feel for what it’s like to have your shoot with M.Benoit Photography.

I’ll be honest – I don’t like advertising. I guess my feelings are there are many talented photographers in town and we each have our own style and our own “look”. I’ve always felt that a photographers work speaks for itself and I love that – no competing, we all have our styles and you get to see which one fits you!

So what is MY style? It’s your style honestly. I like to get to know my clients (especially Seniors who have very distinctive personalities). I often tell them to bring what they wear the most and then after talking for awile I can kinda feel out what we’re going to do and where we’re going to go. It’s not unlike me to start driving in a certain area of town (or in the country) and just stop when I see something that “fits” the client I’m shooting at the time. I don’t plan out sessions prior to meeting the Seniors. I have a general idea in mind, but I’ve learned to trust my instincts and let the shoots take us where it takes us. My all-time best compliment I get from parents of Seniors is “you captured him/her”. That is my goal. To let the true you come out.

“Be True To You”. You’ll be seeing more of that in the near future. ;)

So – that’s my philosophy on shooting Sr. photos & you now know I don’t like advertising…..Having said that – I read recently that producing great work and not advertising it is kinda like winking at a girl in the dark. You know you did it but what’s the point?!?! :) So – look out for my commercial! It will start running next week on KFDX-3.

First Sr. to call and book after seeing it gets his/her sitting fee for FREE!

Thanks to Dillon & Stephanie for allowing the “camera crew” to follow us on your shoots!

May Weddings

Filed under: Professional — Micki Benoit @ 1:00 am

Ok – more on these weddings later, but I’m getting calls asking for the “blog teaser” … sorry it’s taken me weeks to blog these gang – I’ve been sick this week and all of the end-of-the-year stuff has me running around like crazy! Anyway -here’s a starter – I”ll give a “true blog” to each of these weddings as soon as I kick this cold and get back to seeing straight!

My May weddings were both a BLAST!!!

Christy & Jay.
They left on a Harley – need I say more? The cool thing about this couple was they “got it”. They had fun, the guests had fun, it was a celebration. They were cracking each other up during the ceremony, they left on a Harley, they stuffed cake in each others faces and they took pictures in the grass. It was a BLAST!!!

Amy & Issac.
This couple was IN LOVE. It’s soooooo much fun to shoot couples who trust you, and that was Amy & Issac. They were married in Graham and when I told them “hey -ignore that antpile, go around it and let’s get you in the wildflowers” Amy grabbed her dress, said “ok” and off the went. It was also fun to shoot a couple who didn’t “pose” – they just hung out (that’s wedding code for did lots of giggling and kissing) and let me document. Thanks for a great day gang.

Hi gang! No, I’ve not fallen off of the face of the Earth….life is busy right now huh? I’m loving it too because all of my shoots are calling me saying “let’s just do this in June please!”

I’ve been taking advantage of the time & am working my tail off here at the studio getting all caught up on albums, DVDs, edits and (see below) fun creative stuff (yep….more Art!) Then the weddings on the weekends! I’ll try to blog last weekends today – FUN FUN FUN!!!

Anyway – enjoy the beautiful weather everyone!!!!

Creer family

Filed under: Professional — Micki Benoit @ 12:10 am

Just wanted to share the soft, faded look a lot of my clients are ordering. The bluebonnets were soooooo blue this year – it’s almost TOO MUCH for some photos! I’ve enjoyed much of the creative freedom you’ll allowing me! Thanks again for your trust! ~M

When in doubt…..dance!

Filed under: Professional — Micki Benoit @ 8:42 am

Every photographer will tell you that shooting a family that simply enjoys each other turns out beautiful photos every time……

_mg_8534.jpg

And every photographer will also tell you that at the end of a shoot – the kids are usually ALL DONE listening to the photographer-lady, so…instead of posing why not dance?!?! :)

Let’s be honest – do you print these HUGE? No. But, which would you rather see on your fridge or on your desktop every day, a “cheese” photo…or something like these above? Which makes you smile and remember childhood? Yeah….me too.
