Hi friends – I’m starting to get e-mails and calls asking “are you ok?” so thought I’d update ya real quick. Yes – this rain stinks and it’s making studio repair impossible right now (it’s LITERALLY raining IN the studio)
But – here is the good news…..
A camera can go anywhere.
So – for now…..my studio contents are sitting in my “old” at home studio space and in my garage (yes …… I’ve accumulated a lot of STUFF!), I’m taking inventory of damage for my insurance guy and I have an inside “studio” backdrop solution in the house for my infant/maternity shoots and let’s face it…. most of you are wanting good in the grass family stuff and we’re rescheduling because of the rain anyway!
So – I’m A-Ok gang. I’m not gonna lie – this stinks. But as I watch the nightly news and see homes literally under water I have NO right to complain about a minor inconvience to my business that can continue working out of home like I’ve been doing for years before.
THANK YOU for all of the e-mails and calls and good wishes. We’re “all good” here and in a few months….I’m gonna have all new carpet, new paint, and an upgraded look and studio.
Take care! I’ll keep ya updated! ~Micki

Meet the Jabor twins – their mommy, Michelle is a friend of a client and everytime she comes into town I get a call! I love it!
I could have shot these boys all morning!

Remember Will? My lastest Womb-to-One kiddo? He was christened this week! God Bless little Will!

Hey gang – ok – we’re back in town and I gotta admit – a bit overwhelmed!
First – THANKS to all of you who helped, THANKS to all of your calls and e-mails. We’re all ok and business will resume as normal, just working out of the house for a bit it all.
I’m posting a few pix for ya. The first is the “before” and then I”m sharing some pix of what the 94 mph winds did to our house fence (it took down ours, our neighbors and the house to the right of them), and our trampoline/pretzel. Then – the last 32 pix are of the studio now (empty)
I went in tonight to get the last of my stuff and there is standing water, no ceiling, no carpet, and overall, it’s a mess. But – again, I have to remind myself that I’m not in Gainsville with bigger problems, right? So lastly, a pix of my family on vacation at SeaWorld in SanAntonio!

To those of you “in transition” with me this week – thank you in advance for your patience. I will get ALL of your orders ordered in the next few days and by next week I should be caught up and up and running as normal. As for the studio. I have been blessed with GREAT landlords and as I understand it I’ll have new walls, carpet, paint, the whole thing – SO – who knows….this may just turn out A-ok afterall right!?!?
I’ll keep you updated!

Yeah – it’s true. Thanks to the 90mph winds at 2am Wednesday morning I have a pretty seriously damaged roof on my studio (pix to come soon)!
First and foremost – everyone is ok. Nobody was hurt. Secondly, your photos are all saved and backed up on disk and are ok, as is my computers, cameras, backdrops, lights, all of the “big stuff”. Don’t get me wrong – there’s damage and God Bless my friends who must have looked like looters this morning dragging all of my stuff out of the studio, because (just in case you ever wonder if God has a sence of humor)……..I’m in San Antonio with my family this week!
For those of you who I had called who had prints ready to be picked up…..PLEASE be patient with me as they’re all ruined so I’ll have to get them reprinted, it’ll be a few weeks until I can get to them, organize myself to reorder and have them ready for you. I’M SORRY for the inconvience on this! Next week I’ll be calling each of you.
So – for now I’ll be working out of my home for the next few weeks, possibly months. Luckily, as long as I have a camera, a computer and flexible clients I’m good to go!! My landlords are already at work on my roof, the carpet, and the damage in general…..so in the meantime, Thanks to all of you calling/e-mailing me in concern, bear with me as we work through the transition and I’ll keep you updated!

Kendra! Her favorite (along w/many others) was “the passage of time” photo. It’s simple and sweet and I love it too. That family I shot as a “couple” then shot their wedding, and just finished shooting their little boy every season his first year. I love that – very “full circle” moment.
Thanks to all of you who played, free 8×10 for all and thanks for your comments – very sweet and much appreciated. The overall concensus was favorite photos were the bride, the passage of time, the cowboy girl and the angels. I’m back working fast and furious this week & my new commercial is running on KFDX-3 so let me know what ya think when you see it!
Hope you’re all having a great summer!!

My new buddies Gill & Sadie. I’ll admit, I into a certain “frame of mind” when I have a shoot scheduled for a 3 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. I let the kids be the boss and I just go with the flow of thier ideas. Yesterday morning I sat Gill & Sadie down on a picnic table and asked them to cuddle and this is what I got. I couldn’t have planned it if I tried and I got goosebumps as I took the picture (always a good sign).
So moms, don’t worry when it look like all we’re doing is playing, trust me, I’m getting it.

One cute story about Gill & Sadie, I showed up to their house and walked in and wow do they have a beautiful home! I was talking to mommy and said “You have a beautiful home! Who built it?” Then I hear Gill respond….. “Jesus”. Adorable.

What a great week!!!! I’m back from some time off and ready to get back into the swing of things! Amazing how “down time” can refresh the creative juices. I always remember at these times that I’m one of the lucky ones who is excited to get back to her job. Thanks to all of you who played my “Slideshow game!” It was fun to hear from you and I’ll post my winning e-mail later this week (confession: I’ve printed but not read them all…..still unpacking)
Thanks also to you for your patience Amy & Issac – you’re proofs will be online in the next few days! Here is a teaser…..fun edits/texture huh?!

Hi gang! I’m slowing but surely updating my website and blog…..check out my new Slideshow! Click on the “Enlarge Slideshow” option and you can see some of my favorite photos! I’ll be the first to tell you that I’m behind on updating my website and even the photos on this section, but it’s on my list of things to accomplish this summer!
One of the things I find really rewarding is hearing WHY people are touched by something I create or an image I capture. The job is fun -but the feedback can be very rewarding & it helps me to know what’s inspiring to my clients….so with that in mind…..
This week I’m not working and won’t be blogging so I’m gonna do a “freebie”! Watch my slideshow and e-mail me telling me which was your favorite photo & why. Put “My Favorite” in the Subject line of your e-mail. The explaination that gives me goose bumps wins a free photo shoot and free “creation fees” on a creative photo! But here is the catch…..this is only for new friends/clients – so regulars…..send your friends to my blog and encourage them to play! (I Promise, I do NOT have a mass e-mail – you’ll not be getting “spam” from M.Benoit Photography after playing)
Past clients – naturally, you can play too – you all know me well enough to know I’m constantly giving out free stuff – so why not….Free 8×10 print for ALL who send me a “My Favorite” e-mail this week while I’m taking some time off w/family who’s visiting and friends we’re going to visit!
I’m also curious – I have MY personal favorite – I’m interested to see if it’s yours too! Have a great week!
