Thanks for the continuing interest…..I talked to my landlord yesterday and it looks like I’ll be back in my studio mid-August! Evidently the rebuilding will start in 2-3 weeks and then it only takes 10 days to complete renovations (crazy huh?!?! It takes me that long to get a shelf in my bathroom level!)
Check back to my blog for updates and information on my Grand Re-Reopening & Appreciation Open House I’m planning for September to kick off the fall season. It’s just gonna be a great way for me to show my “storm studio-updates” along with introducing new prints, textures, albums, custom framing…..lots of neat stuff I’ve been working on this summer that I’m excited about! This is also a great way for me to express my appreciation to all of you who have supported my business……oh let’s be real here…..there’s gonna be free food and drinks there & I’m gonna be giving away lots of FREE STUFF that night!
I’ll be gone on vacation this week! Take care fellow bloggers!!

Ok – I hear they’re talking about wanting to see the pictures on the radio…..well…..I’m taking this week off and going on a vacation to Nevada to visit friends and lose some money at the blackjack tables in Vegas……so….here is a teaser!
The church was BEAUTIFUL as was the cermony….guests (and photographers) laughed, prayed & cried.

Darin is a handsome son-of-a-gun…and his son Dillon is adorable! But honestly – we all HEAR Liz every day on Lonestar 102.3 (that’s me) & 92.9NIN (they play 80’s at noon…..LOVE that), then lets’ see – she’s on 106.3theBuzz too I think?!?! Check out www.929nin.com – it’s fun to read what the DJ’s are saying. Chris Walters was “the man with the mike” at the reception…..hilarious.
Anyway – the point is we HEAR her all the time….. but do you know what she LOOKS like?

Yeah…..BEAUTIFUL huh? Throughout this wedding process I’ve had a chance to get to know Liz and she is amazing. She is funny, witty, all of the things you have to be to be a radio personality but here is the kicker. She totally has it together. Before her wedding when I see so many brides freaking out she was a cool cucumber, she didn’t care about anything but getting to that alter to marry the man she loves. It was VERY cool and I was HONORED to be a part of their day.
One of my favorite things to do is sneak out of the ceremony and capture those FIRST MOMENTS between a man and wife. Liz and Darin literally brought me to tears. Genuine love is a wonderful thing to witness.

Just a few more pix…..starting with that darling Dillon!

Did you vote on-line and help Liz pick her bridesmaid dresses? If so – they looked great!! Of course….as you can probably tell from my website, logo and studio….I have a “thing” with red.

….ya know I have to “funk-up” at least ONE of your photos. I usually ask for 2-3 weeks to edit ALL of the photos and get them posted in my “view proofs” link so be looking for that soon!

Thanks again Liz and Darin.
God Bless ~M

Ok – the update…….
I met w/my landlord this week and as always….things are gonna turn out just fine.
They’re starting demolition soon (evidently all the contractors are busy in town…..go figure right?!?!)
We had water EVERYWHERE so everything is coming up and being replaced! I get new walls, all new carpet, paint, lights, all of it. I gotta give it to my landlords (ViTek Properties) – they’re taking advantage of this “opportunity” to update and upscale! They have been GREAT. I’m – still working out of home & it’s going fine….I’m A-Ok with working out of home this summer! Keep checking in for updates – you KNOW I’ll be there w/a camera when they’re swinging sledhammers into walls!!
A small side-note….it’s funny how things turn out isn’t it? This summer was the first time I felt comfortable with the state of my business enough to intentionally “slow down” . I wanted to spend more time at home, less time multi-tasking between work and kids ….. obviously having my studio 8 inches under water with a leaking roof wasn’t in the “plan” but I’m finding that the Big-Guy upstairs always seems to always have a better plan than mine!
So for now…..thanks for all of the calls and e-mails concerning the state of the studio – but we’re A-Ok here at M.Benoit Photography! I’ll continue to keep you updated!
Have a great weekend everybody!

Meet some of my favorite clients! Alaina & Eric Anderson have come to me for pictures since I first began my business in Texas! They’re military so every time they drive through TX for a visit they call – it makes my day! I love watching my repeat clients grow and change – it’s amazing!
Alaina is more and more beautiful every year…and those CURLS!!!! Don’t you love the missing tooth?!?!

This is Eric – he looks JUST LIKE his daddy! (Hi Steve – we missed you!)

Just something with a little different “texture-twist” to it to make it unique!

Suspicious anyone? If so this is your day! As for me? I’m not really suspicious but I do love the idea of karma, luck, fate & faith…..kinda a strange combo but it makes for justifying about anything you want.
Lots of you out there are probably attending weddings today – I know I turned down 4-5 brides for todays date and my partner in crime DeeDra and Vikki (SomethingNew Photography) are shooting 3 weddings between them today (yes, they’re crazy). Me? I said “no” because today is my husbands birthday and as soon as the kiddos wake up we’re heading out to the lake for 2 days of fun, sun, tubing & skiing!
I continue getting questions on the status of my studio…..well, I’m meeting with my landlord on Monday to talk about walls, carpet & paint! The rain FINALLY stopped and allowed the roofers to get work done so demolition starts Monday and then they’ll be rebuilding my walls (they got SOAKED), then installing my new carpet, painting and then I’m back in! AllState was Great to work with in replacing my damaged items & I’m HOPING to be back in by August 1 but who knows…..contracters in town are pretty busy (let’s face it…compared to those in Tanglewood, HoseShoe Bend & the East side of town, I have no right to complain about delays). I will keep you updated though!
I hope you all have a great (and if you want to justify that lottery ticket) lucky day! I’m off to have a cup of coffee and justify eating b-day cake for breakfast!
God Bless~
