Summertime! Gotta love it!!!
Will – August
I’m phoneless!
Hey gang – I”m always amazed at how people look to “the blog” to see what’s going on with my life and business – so I figured I’d go ahead and post this real quick – I’m phoneless today….my cell phone got stolen this morning so this afternoon I’ll be trying to replace it but if you call and get a weird automated message that’s why.
Just hang in there for about 24 hours and try again or e-mail me, ok?
THANKS for your patience & understanding!
~Micki
……….gonna just post this on the same post……THERE ARE GREAT PEOPLE OUT THERE!!!!!
Mr. & Mrs. Beaver from Burkburnett called me last night and they have my phone! Said she found it in the isles of Walmart so I’m guessing that the first “baaaaaaaaad person” who took it from the Dr. office figured out pretty soon that I’d called to “freeze” it, couldn’t make any calls, text or download anything so dumped it.
Mrs. Beaver, God love her, she said “I hate these things and listened to it ring all day yesterday (welcome to my life) and FINALLY figured out how to open it!” She found “home” under contacts and called it!!!! HORRAY!!!! I’m meeting her today at Starbucks where treats are on me!
Kinsey
Fun – Fun – Fun!
Meet Kinsey – we could have done another 20 locations had we had we not run into the sunset!
It was fun getting to know you Kinsey and keep those referrals coming in!
What I Learned This Summer……
Well, tomorrow is the first day of school! Hard to believe but we’re ready. My goal for this summer was to spend a bit more time home with the kiddos and SLOW DOWN for a bit. Well, little did I know that my studio would have no roof and get flood damage and I’d be 100% home! It’s ok though -as always things turned out fine and the Benoit family had a great summer.
Home with a 7 year old daughter and a 4 year old son….I learned a few things i thought I’d share!
Like for instance…..did you know that an entire box of crayons left outside on your sidewalk can melt into a BEAUTIFUL “rainbow goop” in less than 24 hours?
It IS possible for a 7 year old to stay up until 1:00am and STILL wake up at 7:00am the next morning.
Cellphones DO NOT get reception at the lake….highly recommend it.
It takes 2 McDonald stops, 4 potty breaks and 3 back-to-back showings of “Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles” to get to Houston from Wichita Falls.
A mom of two CAN read a book in less than a month (Jody Picoult….my new favorite author….and don’t let that fool you, hers is the first books I’ve read in YEARS)
French fries that have been under the boosterseat for who-knows-how-long STILL look appetizing to a 4 year old boy.
Lifejackets, when turned upside down with legs inserted through the armholes, make WONDERFUL floatation devices for adults who want to float but don’t want to spill their canned beverage.
……and the sight of me attempting to crawling out of the water and into the boat via a ladder in the above mentioned “diapered” stated can make other adults laugh hard enough to deservingly spill their canned beverage.
(I call it karma) HeeHee
High School Musical 2 songs can and will get stuck in your head for days on end
Cheetos can be eaten before 10am.
Little boys will attempt to pee in public
Little girls will paint every fingernail a different color when given the freedom to do so.
Time spent with friends in the summer is time well spent.
Even a “good parent” sometimes wonders…..when is the last time we gave those kids a true bath/shower?!?!
All in all it was a GREAT summer for the Benoit fam. ![]()
Hope you all had a great one too! ~M
Got an old wedding dress? Prom dress? Bridesmaid dress?
Are you up for some FUN and something different? My buddies DeeDra & Vikki (SomethingNew Photography) and I have set our GOAL for this year (our “year” starts when the kids go back to school)
and it is to do more stuff outside of the box!!
So here we go!!! We were both inspired by an article in Professional Photographers magazine called “Trash the Dress” (check it out www.trashthedress.com). It is full of AWESOME photos of women in their wedding dresses getting wet, dirty, you name it! In fact – we’d talked about doing this before but simply had not taken the time to just do it! So – we’re inspired and we’re looking for volunteers to let us go out in your dress and get dirty and HAVE FUN!! We’re also not limiting this to wedding dresses only – do you have anything formal looking? Again – we’re wanting to go OUTSIDE the box so anything is up for consideration!
Of course – you’re gonna get a free print out of it (I’m willing to bet you’ll like it as much or better than your traditional ones) and we can guarantee you a good time. We may put you on a horse, may put you in a tree, may put you on a tractor……we’re not sure yet – but it will be UNIQUE and FUN and DIRTY and CREATIVE!!!! This is NOT for those of you who want to preserve your dress for your daughter. This is for those of you who (like me) have your dress hanging in your closet….in fact….I’d totally be up for this if I could still fit in my dress!!!
I’m not saying we’re going to RUIN your dress, but we are wanting people however who are not afraid for a bit of dirt, a slight tear, or the potential of stains.
We’re aiming for early October to do this so if you’re interested shoot me an e-mail (Micki@mbenoitphotography.com) and we’ll contact you and start talking!
Hope to hear from you soon! ~Micki
Emily
When you get a Sr. this beautiful why be normal?!?!
Meet Emily (and in the last picture her best friend since 1st grade!)
Emily is kind and humble and tons of fun to be with – I love those low maintainence gals – I could have “hung” with her and her mom all night, unfortunately, the sun sets….but we had great time.
Thanks Emily for trusting me with your photos!
Lindsey’s Bridals
I’ll give you ONE hint Justin…..your bride looks like a princess!
See you one month from today at the church! ~M
To the friends & family of the Christies….
I have received a lot of e-mails recently concerning the proofs of the Christie family, I have extended the proofs for another year.
I post this photo ONLY because I wanted to share…it was Sherrie’s favorite (she loved that nobody was posing except Brittany)
Just as a reminder – I understand that many of you visit their proofs often to view the slideshow – I’m happy to burn it to DVD for any of you FREE of charge, just call me and I’ll do anything I can to help out.
God bless and my prayers continue to be with you. ~Micki
