WOW – we are inches away from being done renovating the studio! Honestly, can I be more blessed? I have had sooooo much help!

My husband….the only man I know who can be cool about a date night that involved cutting carpet & touching up the “red room”. I love ya babe.

Kelly – you have now seen EVERY side of my personality…and STILL haven’t quit.

My shot-vac….without you this job wouldn’t have sucked as much as it did.

The guys at the return counter at Lowes….sorry ’bout that – it had been a long day and it was not your problem.

The COUNTLESS friends/family who has helped by putting in HOURS, breaking nails, getting paint in your hair, etc. You know who you are and I love ya.

OMG last and most importantly, my kids for putting up with 2 weeks of tag-team parenting, McDonalds & a tired mommy. Life will be back to “normal” soon.

We have ONE MORE DAY of really hard work in there, I took these past 2 weeks off saying I wanted to just get in there – so hopefully we’ll stay on track. I’m pretty much planning on staying there Friday night until it’s done, then I’ll be shooting a wedding Saturday & Sunday is move day, then yes, I’ll post before/afters (In the words of one of my fav. DJ Chris Walters…. it’ll be very “Trading Spaces”). Keep your fingers crossed and yes….this means I’ll finally be back to posting REAL photos again – SHOCKER!

Today I’m taking the day off!!!!

It’s 7:30am & I’m up before my family (I love that on a Saturday, just me, my coffee and my blog-stalking). Once the kids get up though it’s all about the fam. (and laundry) today. Matt & I have been working like mad on the new studio and our kids have been great but have kinda gotten the brunt of it. We call it “tag-team-parenting”. I know, I know, we’ve all been there, still – it’s time for a day off I say!

So today Matt & G are going to Monster trucks and Madie & I have an NBA date (No Boys Allowed…..ah the joys of being 7). Then, after that we have no plans but whatever we do I’ll NOT be in shoots and we will NOT be working in the studio.

So… we took a break from painting, flooring and renovating today to “real” work.

But, in the spirit of new stuff from M.Benoit – here is a sneak peak at a few of my many new business cards! I have to admit though, I do have a special place in my heart and this photo is my daughters hands nursing a “broken-winged” butterfly.

However…. as Kelly tells me “we’re so over that”.

Hey gang – well, we have been hard at work on the new studio all weekend and let me tell ya… I am a mixture of anticipation, excited and your basic nervous mess. I have hired the help of Jennifer Hudson who is known for her taste in color, style and just being a nice person. I knew that in planning my studio I could easily end up doing something very safe and comfortable… something very warm with different shades of brown and toupe with one wall the color of … well… coffee. Basically, I’d decorate it like my home. Don’t get me wrong… I LOVE the colors in my home) but I wanted my new studio to feel like a STUDIO. Ya know, something very M.Benoit Photography-ish …. something with lots of energy, kinda funky & crazy and with a little pop.

So – remember this photo? Well, we took and went with it for inspiration.

I love valentines day….because I get roses? Nah. Because we get a romantic date night? Wrong again. Expensive gifts? Nope. It’s because I have found Little Debbie “Be My Valentine” snacks.
HOLY KAMOLIE they are yummy! I ate 6, yes SIX of them yesterday…..before noon.
