They met their first day at Tech, Kristina convinced her friends to invite Chris and his friends out for group activities….after a few nights of strategic seating at the movies, in the car & hanging out at the dorms…..

This wedding was unique all around.
First of all – Hello?!?! LOVE the red car!

…add that car into the mix of a FUN bridal party who took all of my crazy ideas.
“Give me your best rocker-faces” is all I said!

For proof of the fun…

But aside from the fun it was a genuine day. I LOVE the expressions of a dad when he walks his girl down the isle. If I could write a book of quotes from that moment between bride & father I would – a book of quotes I am trusted with in that moment…..

and for anyone who thinks you have to have your face in a photo to tell the story (honey…are you listening?!)
The first dance…

And finally – my favorite from the day….

Ok – now for something different…….
I’ve been shooting with second shooters for-e-ver BUT I hate-hate-hate having my picture taken. I know….that word isn’t allowed in our house either but in this case it’s 100% appropriate. I hate having my picture taken – but everyone from the photographers in LA I stalk to D 3 blocks down tell me that I need more photos of myself….ok….so I told Bev that she could get some of me taking pictures….this is as close as I’m gonna go for now.
Me in action….

Getting this shot….

Me in action….yes – I will do ANYTHING to get something fun or different to document your day & yes – that’s me laying on the floor.
)
Getting this shot…

Chris & Kristina – you have tons of great photos but I’m trying to Edit and post them instead of just blog them before leaving for the weekend so bear with me! Lots more to come!

You’re just gonna have to trust me that this couple is beautiful, fun, relaxed, in L.O.V.E!
During their shoot we had waaaaaay too much to show you the boring look at the camera shots so here are a few of MY favorites.

They brought the dog – love it when couples do that!

I LOVE catching couples crack up at each other – look at the way McKenna is looking at Shea. Pure adoration….

They have an inside joke between them & their parents…they don’t kiss…only give high fives

Busted!

So seriously – thanks guys for a great shoot – I can hardly wait the the bridal and wedding!
Thanks for trusting me and doing ANYTHING I asked….even (shhhhhhh) kiss.

The ultra-cool Chad-the-man came with me on this shoot to video – this is something new I’ve been doing for couples or families to help document the shoot and get a REAL feel for the fun we have. Ask me about it if you’re interested. We combine photos and video with some killer music – it’s REALLY cool and different! As always – thanks Chad for making a fun shoot even more fun!

So if you are blog-stalkers you have already heard me go on & on & on about Diane Bass-Johnson and her family – yeah – I love ‘em. So – I was particularly glad to hear that they decided to participate in my Seasonal package – so last week – we did their Summer shoot.
In true Diane-style she knew that simple is best, so we took the shoot to her front yard. I told her to dress the kids in their summer clothes, nothing too planned out – and then….let’s just play – afterall…that’s what you do in the summer right?

After some easy family shots and some “smile-and-look-at-the-camera-stuff” we decided to REALLY go summer…. turn on the sprinklers!
Now….THIS is the face of a kid being a kid…

HeeHee…and THIS is the face of a kid being a kid in the sprinkler.

Love it!!!

Little sis wasn’t so sure at first….

but soon warmed up the the idea of water hitting her from every angle.

If you do one thing with your camera today get it out and take pictures of your kids playing in the water, in the pool, the sprinklers, it doesn’t matter….get pictures of your kids being kids in the summer-time.

Oh yeah …. gotta get the feet.

Yesterday I took the day off for a personal day. Not something I do a lot. Matt was gone out of town for the day & night and the kids were busy with a summer-care-trip and gymnastics for most of the day. Now…a normal person, on a personal day, would drink an extra cup of coffee, have a mani & pedi, maybe browse around town and do some shopping, meet a friend for supper and end the day with a glass of wine, a girlie movie and early to bed right?
So what did I do?
PAINT!!!
(From this point on Ashley, Kami, Kelsey & Aubree stop reading because I didn’t spend the day working on your albums)
Painted Turtle…that is the color of my laundry room! EVERY time I go into Home Depot to pick colors for something I somehow end up bringing home that color so finally yesterday on a whim I did it. It’s a pretty greenish/grayish color and it’ll make my laundry days a bit more turtliish I’m hoping.
So – in one day without kids or my man I got my hallway faux-painted, got G’s new “big boy room” done in, as he calls is “big boy blue” and my laundry room painted!!!!! And yes -I DID have the extra coffee and glass of wine too.

I’m convinced that it must be a Texas thing. I have an ongoing joke with two or three of my mommy clients about their girls and their bows.
You all know Bayler by now. Well – you haven’t yet met her mommy, Sommer. Sommer is one of my favorite people and I have to admit it- Sommer has STYLE. She comes into my studio every month toting a cute diaper-bag, wearing awesome jewelry and even awesomer shoes (yes….they’re THAT cool). So – I suppose I, in my Levi’s and white t-shirt, shouldn’t question her style – but I HAVE to give her a hard time about her Texas bows she puts her babies in.
Well, this month Sommer brought her sister and her baby for a cousins shot – or as I call it – bow-frenzie!

Ok – so I’ll admit it – its way cute, but Seriously – the bow is bigger than the baby and OMG what an ADORABLE baby!

Ok – so enough on the bows.
Happy July Bayler!

So – cyber-space friends…..meet my future daughter-in-law Brooke & her little sister Ava!

I know I know I know….I know what you’re thinking…

Hey gals – I’ve had a lot of calls today about the Deb. photos the past few days so here are a few FYI’s for ya.
Yes, they were to expire today but I’m extending them for another month.
No, after they expire online I do NOT delete/trash/erase them. I keep them forever (literally) so you can actually order anytime. I simply install deadlines because I’m a busy mom too and I know I work better when there is a deadline given to me.
Yes, I am a bit harder to reach during the summer months as I’m soaking in lots of time with my kiddos so thanks in advance for your patience and just leave me a message and we’ll get together in time.
Yes, I am available in-studio by appointment to see your photos and talk about what you would like to purchase.
Any other questions feel free to call or e-mail me!
Thanks!
