grat.i.tude [noun]
- the quality or feeling of being grateful.

It’s really quite simple when you break it down…

It’s a noun….meaning it is a person, place or thing.
It’s a quality, meaning it is something that a part of you, a possession.
It’s a feeling, so it’s internal.

But here is the thing I love about this word.

The word itself is within the definition of the word.

Being Grateful IS the defination of Gratitude.

It’s that simple!

***Side Note: I’ve had a few men interested in this session – YES – you’re more than welcome and NO – you’ll not be the only one!! Sorry for the “mom-assumption”, in our family it’s kinda….well, assumed. My bad!!! Dads, brothers, and yes, even (gulp) teenagers are welcome!!!!

***Nikon/Sony/Canon: I shoot with Canon so if you shoot with a Nikon or Sony camera (or any other brand) please bring your camera manuals. The information you will gain in this day will still be very helpful to you, we just might have to “dig” a bit to find how to change your settings!

I am taking photos over the Holiday Weekend, but if I don’t have my camera in my hand I’m on vacation!!

I plan on eating waaaaaaaaaay too much, like scratch-the-belly-sweats-all-day too much.

I plan on playing baseball, tag & Uno with my kids.

I plan on enjoying the company of my in-laws, my family & my neighbors.

I plan on not wearing a watch.

Meet the Taylor family!

This family is a BLAST to be around – they’re constantly just giggling at each other, at me, at each other, at inside-jokes. At pretty much anything – they simply enjoy each others company and it shows.

Miss Elise is one of our all-time-favorite-babysitters so she holds a special place in my heart and the heart of my family…..

Ok -so Kim calls me after Christmas Magic. She sets up a photo-shoot for her and her six kids…..six…..6. No problem -I get her scheduled for a Saturday and I book it for 1 1/2 hour shoot.

Fast-forward to the photo-shoot now – I look down at my schedule & I see, it’s 3:15, at 3:30 I have my shoot with Kim, I start to mentally stretch and prepare….then they drive up and get out of the car…as they piled out of the car(s) that is when the clouds opened up, the angels started singing and I resisted the urge to do a cartwheel…..here are the 6 “kids”.

Rock On!!!!

Now – don’t get me wrong, my young family shoots are probably one of my favorite parts of my job, but I’ll admit – it was nice not to turn into “silly-Micki” for a bit, I got to take a break from racing and I didn’t laying down on the ground, nor did I encourage anyone to throw stuff on me….at least for that hour.
